Christina-Watts-Figueroa, MA, LMFT-S, LPC-S, RPT-S, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, has over six years of practice in family therapy, EMDR therapy and play therapy. She has worked in different mental health settings throughout her community. Christina specializes in working with children, adolescents, families, and the military community. Her clinical practice has focused on attachment, trauma, grief & loss, race, family systems and cultural issues, and military related-concerns. Christina provides supervision for LMFT Associates in Texas, EMDR and RPT consultation sessions with counseling professionals and provides trainings for mental health professionals. Her consultation, supervision and training focuses on the use of play therapy, EMDR therapy, family therapy, sandtray therapy and other expressive therapies.
Christina is the proud biracial Chamorro and Scottish woman. She is also the wife of a US Army Veteran and proud daughter of a US Airman. Christina has a passion for supporting military and veteran families and presents on how to support them through family play therapy at various national, state, and local conferences. Christina co-owns Yellow Ribbon Counseling PLLC in Killeen, TX where she serves the military and veteran community.
Her clinical experience has included addressing family issues, trauma/PTSD, deployment and transitional issues, abuse, cultural-race based issues, sensory related concerns, abuse, nuerodivergent-related concerns, parent/co-parenting, grief and loss, and family violence.
Christina is also a second year doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Walden University. Christina is currently offering EMDR and Play Therapy consultation. She is also offering LMFT supervision to those licensed as LMFT Associates in Texas. She continues to provide marriage and family counseling to those in the Greater Fort Hood, TX community.
Christina continues to serve the larger play therapy community by servicing as the Secretary of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and Association for Play Therapy Registration and CE committee. During her years in practice she co-founded the Central Texas Chapter of TxAPT. She is also a 2020 APT Leadership graduate.
